Stuart Wilson, "I am delighted to share this announcement which marks a very exciting next chapter in RP International’s history."

The MCG Group has welcomed RP International (RPI) into the Group as the cornerstone acquisition for its technology division.

RPI provides access to the top leadership and technology talent globally and supports its clients to identify the international leadership and technology talent required to deliver on major strategic initiatives and transformations across Europe, MEA, APAC and ANZ regions. Since its launch in 1998, RPI has placed over 8,000 people and built up an excellent reputation for its specialist knowledge and approach.

Despite numerous approaches over the years, it was imperative for RPI owners Stuart Wilson and Julian Frankum to wait for the right fit in a company to takeover the business. The MCG Group not only gave the founders an opportunity to play fundamental roles in the future growth of the business, but also proposed that RPI acts as the cornerstone investment for MCG’s ambitious 5-year strategic international growth plan in the technology sector.

The MCG Group was recently named as one of ‘The UK's 100 Best Mid-Sized Companies to Work For’ as well as one of ‘Recruitment’s 40 Best Companies to Work For’ by the Best Companies List, with nearly 300 employees across the Group. It offers recruitment, consultancy and project-based solutions within construction, education, healthcare and technology sectors in the UK and internationally.

For the last 3 years, The MCG Group has been working in the interactive, digital and immersive technology industry developing one of the largest professional creative networks of clients and candidates through its brand, Creative Personnel. RPI becoming the cornerstone of the technology sector, which is headed up by MD Rory Ferguson, marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the rapidly expanding MCG Group. The new enlarged MCG Group will deliver c£150m revenue and c£30m NFI in FY22.

Stuart Wilson, RPI CEO and Co-Founder, said: “What set MCG’s approach apart from others we have received over the last two decades was the perfect ‘fit’ with our ‘people first’ approach, matching ambitions for further growth and a commitment to continue to build the RP International brand in the technology sector world-wide. Our entire Leadership team are 100% committed to staying with the business and excited about working together with our new colleagues across the Group”.

Julian Frankum, RPI MEA CEO and Co-Founder, added: “There are few truly international recruitment businesses that have stood the test of time and kept pace with the ever-evolving landscape of technology and digital. But having done so for well over 23 years and operated in over 120 countries, this is an excellent opportunity for RP International to benefit from being part of a larger group, and to expand our transformational recruitment into new sectors.”

Colm McGinley, CEO of The MCG Group, said: “RPI joining our Group is an incredible milestone in our company’s growth history. We have hugely ambitious plans for the business internationally, which with RPI onboard, I believe we can build something very special in the coming years.

Rory Ferguson, MCG’s technology sector MD, added: “This heralds the start of something truly outstanding for The MCG Group. RPI’s specialist sector coverage, expertise and great reputation gives us a superb platform to drive more high-level, executive permanent and interim placements as we pursue our international aspirations.”
